Qualification -
Unit of Competency MEM09009 - Create 2-D drawings using computer-aided design system
Description
Employability Skills
Learning Outcomes and Application This unit of competency defines the skills and knowledge required to produce 2-D drawings using a computer-aided design (CAD) system. Skills include producing linked bills of material, file management and associated customisation of installed software, including the use of macros, menus and default settings. 2-D drawings can be produced from 3-D models created using CAD system. The unit primarily applies to the fields of mechanical, electrical or electronic, fabrication and fluid power. This unit covers CAD skills only. Where detail drafting skills are required see the following units:MEM09004 Perform electrical or electronic detail draftingMEM09005 Perform basic engineering detail draftingMEM09006 Perform advanced engineering detail draftingNo licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of publication.Band: BUnit Weight: 8

Submission Requirements

List each assessment task's title, type (eg project, observation/demonstration, essay, assignment, checklist) and due date here

Assessment task 1: [title]      Due date:

(add new lines for each of the assessment tasks)

Assessment Tasks

Copy and paste from the following data to produce each assessment task. Write these in plain English and spell out how, when and where the task is to be carried out, under what conditions, and what resources are needed. Include guidelines about how well the candidate has to perform a task for it to be judged satisfactory.

This field allows for different work environments and conditions that may affect performance. Essential operating conditions that may be present (depending on the work situation, needs of the candidate, accessibility of the item, and local industry and regional contexts) are included.

Drawing includes one (1) or more of the following:

plans

diagrams

charts

electrical or electronic circuits

File formats include one (1) or more of the following:

IGES

DXF

HPGL

Entities mean any single item created on the screen andinclude one (1) or more of the following:

lines

arcs

circles

text

hatch

dimensions

Attributes include mean properties associated with an entity andinclude one (1) or more of the following:

layer

level

line type

line width

colour

text type

Supplementary data includes one (1) or more of the following:

area

lengths

angles

perimeters

Copy and paste from the following performance criteria to create an observation checklist for each task. When you have finished writing your assessment tool every one of these must have been addressed, preferably several times in a variety of contexts. To ensure this occurs download the assessment matrix for the unit; enter each assessment task as a column header and place check marks against each performance criteria that task addresses.
